New Students learn Square form first, with its simplified movements. It clearly defines each separate technique, and is useful in teaching correct stance, posture and focus.

The next stage is to make these techniques flow, this is known as Short Form, and takes about 4 minutes to complete.

The next stage is FORM this is the real Tai Chi Chuan, the techniques learned in Short Form are extended and often repeated, with some new techniques added, making this an exercise that lasts for approximately 20 minutes, with continuous movement, contracting and expanding, twisting and stretching.

Then if all the above exercise is not enough, and you need more, there is an Advanced Form, using the more challenging moves in Form.

You can also challenge yourself and do form with your eyes closed, or Mirror image or even reverse.
