Congratulations
Well done to Dee, Anton and Graham.
Who took part in their first British Open, on the 6th April.
They were in the Beginners Hand Form Category, which this year was well attended with about 15 competitors.
They performed very well and though not in the medals, their scores were high. Afterwards I spoke to one of the judges who told me the category included some very good performances in one of the other Styles, but that he thought they had done very well.
Pushing hands, fixed step.
Anton also took part in the Fixed Step Pushing Hands Competition
Weight category under 70k, he won his first round fight with a nice couple of throws. Then much to his surprise, having lost in the second round, he was called up to fight again. So totally unprepared, he fought off for the bronze medal, losing to a very experienced Wudang man. Next Year Anton…..
Sabre
Steve also took part in the competition, entering Sword Sabre and Spear against strong competitors. He won a Bronze in Sabre.
Much to our surprise he was beaten in the pushing hands in the first round, but his opponent went on to win Silver.
WELL DONE GRAHAM, DEE AND ANTON
